This training solution for Georgetown University Medical School used Bridgeworks© to power photo-realistic 3D models of the hand. Using animations, the deliverable taught students complex motions/movements including flexion and extension of the hand as well as pronation of the arm. Interaction between the web page and the 3D scene allowed students to identify anatomical structures with standard web navigation.
Georgetown’s reliance on costly, scarce cadavers was reduced, while learning efficiency increased as a result of the ability to understand complex motions and relationships which are difficult to teach or visualize through static 2D content.

With a multilingual international sales team requiring extensive training and education, it was difficult for the client to keep current on a wide variety of new & complex surgical products.
Interactive 3D versionsof the devices were built & animated to visually simulate the operation of the device. Textual content was linked to the device’s functions and physical operation. The student could “see” how the device actually functioned and manipulate the device. Multimedia content of the device in use in the operating room was added to complete the experience. Modular design simplified the translation into multiple languages, allowing the training to be deployed in 27+ countries.
