Project Description: The Company was contracted by the U.S. government to provide a solution that would provide access to critical planning and status information for a large scale construction project. The objective was to “see” or “visualize” the progress/status of construction activities and to retrieve/integrate related engineering data residing from the various legacy systems with one “virtual dashboard” management system.
Traditional development and facility planning tools, such as gantt charts and network diagrams, do not represent and communicate the space/time or four-dimensional aspects effectively. These planning tools do not allow project managers to create schedule alternatives rapidly or find the best way to build a particular design. Extending the traditional planning tools, The Company provided a 3D visualization of the concurrent construction activities and integrates the various legacy data systems into one management system. This unique reporting mechanism was created based upon a 3D aerial photo of the AF base which allowed “drill down” navigation to all ongoing activities down to the individual room, cell and equipment levels of the construction project
